I am a personable, driven and imaginative individual with eight years’ experience in communications, writing and publishing gained via my role as a B2B magazine editor.
I am highly computer literate, able to work comfortably on Macs and PCs alike, and I am very much at ease with WordPress and other content management systems, the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe Photoshop and InDesign and social media platforms. I am also a proficient and engaging public speaker, having conducted multiple radio and TV interviews, given talks on animal husbandry and handling at local schools and universities, and spent many hours engaging with the public throughout my former career as a riding instructor and horse trainer.
I live in Buckinghamshire with my husband and two dogs, and I've got a keen interest in sustainability and environmental issues, animal welfare and food innovation.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing, watching movies, gardening, cooking vegan food, crocheting cuddly toys, listening to true crime podcasts (often while crocheting cuddly toys), kickboxing, and spending time exploring - and getting lost in - the countryside. Finding a pub along the way is a bonus.
I'm happy in teams both small and large, and am respected for my ability to use my initiative when it comes to managing and prioritising my workload.
Deadlines are not an issue either; after all, I've spent nearly eight years organising each month around them.
I take pride in what I do, and I'm never happy putting my name against something substandard or lacklustre. The content I produce is the content I know I'd be happy reading, and I hold my own work to the same standards as I would anyone else's.
Although I consider myself a strong writer, I also believe there's always room for improvement. I've enjoyed seeing how my writing style has evolved with time and remain happy to explore any opportunity to enhance my work by trying new things.
